Harcros Chemicals Inc. is Hiring a Production Operator Near Kansas, KS

SUMMARY
Receive, store, formulate, package, and distribute product within the production area by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Job duties may vary based on business needs. Primary activities consist of:
  • Material movement via forklift or through liquid material piping system.
  • Loading and unloading trailers including empty containers, filled product and bulk tankers.
  • Unloading rail cars to bulk storage tanks or to bulk tankers. 
  • Filling chemical into specified packages while adhering to establish production schedules and work order instructions.
  • Read work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be packaged or loaded.
  • Responsible for preparing proper packaging of product and applying all necessary labels.
  • Responsible for safety information on work orders.
  • Weigh all tank trucks being shipped or received. Responsible for logging receipt of all tank trucks and tank cars.
  • Maintain plant inventory on bulk materials, product, and containers.
  • Responsible for compliance with Company, city, state, and federal packaging regulations.
  • Complete scale tickets, work orders, receiving orders and any necessary paperwork.
  • Work may result in generating, handling, and/or inspection of hazardous waste. This could require responding to or managing hazardous waste spills and incidents in accordance with the site’s emergency action plan (EAP).

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience; and one to three years related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding and carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in standard situations. 
SAFETY
Must be able to understand and follow policies and procedures regarding the proper handling of chemicals during daily activities. Must also adhere to requirements for the proper use of required personal protective equipment.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to drive a forklift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl. Must pass physical exam and must be able to wear a respirator, including spirometry and fit testing. 
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical equipment and in outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
